It’s day 2 at La Selva! Though we had originally planned to spend the day climbing trees, and studying epiphytes, we had to change our course due to come heavy rain. So rather than climb actual trees, we kept dry and practiced useful skills on the patio.
Afterwards, we made some progress processing our plant and insect samples from the canopy. Soon we’ll be putting our data together and comparing our findings from the different Costa Rican sites. ¡Qué emocionante!
We ended our day with a night walk through the La Selva forest. During our walk, we practiced relying on our other senses in complete darkness. Despite the lack of light, the forest was buzzing with life. We had a great time trying to find critters, and even found a few! Now let’s see what tomorrow brings.
